DJI Phantom 3 Professional Review

The DJI Phantom 3 look much like the company's previous drone called the Phantom 2 Vision drone, on the surface the Vision drone and Phantom 3 doesn't look much different. The Phantom 3 drone consists of the main body with 4 propellers, a camera fitted to the movable 3-axis gimbal that is mounted beneath, and the landing legs which provides stability for the drone while on the ground.

Out of the box, Phantom 3 comes with a large dedicated remote control that can give you all the functions you need to make it fly, including the capacity to hold and charge your tablet or smartphone to act as the viewing screen. The drone is strong enough to withstand a little ground collision. It is designed in such a way that the parts are replaceable if the need arises, so a damaged propeller does not mean it's the end of the world for Phantom 3.

The battery is designed to alert you when it's running out of power, it is handy and swappable, which is a good job, it has an estimation of about 23-minutes of life per charge. There is a need always to swap those batteries. Spares batteries can be purchased. Also, you can buy the Pro Professional two battery boxed option which costs more, but it remains an obvious good choice. The battery performance depends on what you are doing with the camera.

If you fly only, you will get the most time out of Phantom 3, but you will notice a dip if you capture 4K footage, but overall the battery performance is great.

DJI Phantom 3 Professional Review

The main reason to go for the Professional model of DJI Phantom 3 is that the footage is awesome due to its ability to record in 4K and it offers 1080p 120fps. The Advanced version comes with HD only and this is the main difference between the two. With the Phantom 3, the company has dumped the fisheye lens that was on the previous models. The new lens offers a 94-degree viewing angle, and this means that the body of the drone won’t appear in your footage.

DJI Phantom 3 Professional Review

Regardless of whether you record 4K or not, one of the biggest success of the DJI Phantom 3 is its flight performance. You can get Phantom 3 up in the air with so much ease and when flying it, you will probably think you're doing anything. And we believed that trained professionals would get the best out of it.

We have to mention support here as we have yet to see a web site that is so simple that to find anything you need, from user manuals to drivers you WILL find it on the front page! It’s great to see a company that thinks that great support should start at the Web Site level.
